Gabriel is a DP based in Auckland, New Zealand. He considers himself part of the new school of cinematographers, drawn to a multidisciplinary approach to filmmaking and a visual style rooted in emotional realism.

Growing up in Brazil as the son of a musician, Gabriel spent his early years surrounded by music and instruments before finding his way into filmmaking. That deep connection to rhythm, pace and feeling continues to influence his approach to the image, shaped by the sounds and energy of home.

Alongside cinematography, Gabriel’s disciplines include photography, editing and directing, giving him experience across different stages of production. He places great importance on pre-production, from storyboarding and planning camera movements to developing a visual approach that serves the story. Collaboration is equally important to his process, particularly working alongside experienced technical crew to bring each project together. His work includes commercial, lifestyle, brand, and automotive projects, often evoking themes of freedom, movement and a strong sense of place.
